Brief description

Field measurements of bed morphologies, hydrodynamics and sediment suspension were made on 15 low energy (Hsig < 0.50 m) micro-tidal sheltered sandy beaches in SW Australia.

Lineage

Maintenance and Update Frequency: notPlanned
Statement: On each of the 15 study sites measurements of the hydrodynamics, sediment suspension concentrations and ripple morphologies were obtained with a portable instrument pod (shown in thumbnail picture). The measurements were taken for at least 17 mins at 4Hz to give a total of 4096 data points. The length of time was chosen to obtain a significant representation of the prevailing energy conditions, yet short enough to prevent the influence of tidal effects on results (further information see journal article).
