Brief description Low nephron number is a major risk factor for chronic kidney disease. This project aims to develop a greater understanding of how nephrons are formed. The findings from this study may enable us to design strategies to increase nephron number in at-risk individuals, and make nephrons in tissue culture for regenerative medicine and drug screening.
