Brief description Responses to trust breaches in mission-based groups. This project aims to highlight the psychological factors explaining why charities and religious groups are often inactive in the face of trust breach allegations. Trust breaches among mission-based groups like churches and charities usually affect Australia’s most vulnerable populations. This project will also research how to restore trust between mission-based groups and the community after a transgression, and generate psychological theories and models that explain how people respond when presented with disturbing information about a group for which they care deeply. This project will also shed light on how trust between mission-based groups and the community can be restored after a transgression.
