Dinyarrack State School No. 2556 opened on 14 August 1883 with an annual attendance of 26 students.

The school originally opened in a temporary location, until a school building could be constructed on part of Allotment 2 in the Parish of Dinyarrak, County Lowan. The site adjoined the Cove Station. A new school building opened in October 1885, and was also used for Sunday school, community gatherings, and as a receiving house for mail.

From 19 June 1905 Dinyarrack operated on a part-time basis with Leeor State School No. 2565. However, with attendances decreasing the school closed on 5 February 1909.

The school reopened as Serviceton North State School on 10 March 1919, but closed permanently on 20 October 1948.
