Dinjerra Primary School (School No. 5450) (VA 5394) was established at the end of the 1996 school year as the result of a merger between Maidstone Primary School (School No. 4658) (VA 4650) and Tottenham Crossing Primary School (School No. 5415) (VA 5594).  The name Dinjerra is an Aboriginal word meaning “west” and also refers to the fish species, Pseudocaranx Dinjerra, found in northern Western Australia. 

The co-educational primary school is situated on the former Tottenham Crossing site on South Road, Braybrook and operates as single campus school.  The former Maidstone site was closed and later sold for development of the Wirilda Way housing estate.  Initially operating out of two light timber construction (LTC) buildings, Dinjerra Primary School had an enrolment of 160 students in 1998. 

In 2019, Dinjerra Primary School underwent a $7.4 million upgrade funded by the Victorian School Building Authority. The project included the demolition of the original LTC buildings and sheds, refurbishment of the library, and the construction of new administration, junior, middle, and specialist buildings. As of 2024, the school comprises four main buildings and has a total enrolment of 212 students. Dinjerra Primary School remains in operation as of 2025.
