Full description

This dataset consists of data and R code associated with : 'Detecting ecosystem trends in response to climate and disturbance across continental plot networks: a power analysis '. The data include plant ecological community indicators calculated for TERN Ausplots surveys and R code to run change simulations that enable calculation of power to detect change and associated effect size, as well as associated correlates of sampling such as baseline replication and variance.

Data consists of three tables (.csv) and an R script (plain text .R):

CTI_data (abundance-weighted community temperature index; 98th percentile of recorded occurrences with respect to mean annual temperature).

C4_data (proportional abundance of C4 photosynthetic pathway).

SAD_data (sigma parameter of a species abundance distribution, the standard deviation of a lognormal distribution in units of log-transformed cover-abundance).

Simulation_R_code (R code to run simulations and power calculations on the three csv datasets)

Data sources:

TERN Ausplots data were sourced from TERN (2020); Guerin et al. 2021; Munroe et al. 2021a.

Data for CTI were sourced from Gallagher et al. (2019).

Photosynthetic pathway data were sourced from Munroe et al. (2021b).
