Brief description
Key flow and turbulence data collected during the "Detailed Spatial Sampling" Experiment concerning flow within and above a horizontally homogeneous forest are provided. The experiment provides key reference data for other wind tunnel experiments investigating wind damage over forests. The experiment was conducted at the CSIRO wind tunnel facility in the FC Pye Lab, Black Mountain Science and Innovation Precinct, Canberra.Lineage: Time series data (2-10 kHz) of airflow in 3-dimensions was collected using a laser Doppler anemometer, at multiple locations within and above a model canopy. The data were processed using CSIRO developed Quality Assurance algorithms, and subsequently analysed to provide measurements of the time-averaged wind vector, and the 2nd and 3rd order turbulent statistics.
