Brief description

WA Health is Western Australia’s public health system. With over 2.5 million square kilometres to cover it is the largest area in the world covered by a single health authority. WA Health employs 43,000 dedicated staff who ensure the well-being of the State’s ever-increasing population throughout metropolitan, regional and remote, areas of the State.

Our vision is to provide healthier, longer and better quality lives for all Western Australians regardless of location or circumstance. We work to improve, promote and protect the health of Western Australians by:
caring for individuals and the community
caring for those who need it most
making the best use of funds and resources
supporting our team.

To provide high quality services across our vast state the administration of WA Health has been divided in 5 key areas:
Department of Health
Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS)
North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS)
South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS)
WA Country Health Service (WACHS).
