David is an Associate Professor of Biostatistics in the School of Medicine and Public Health at the University of Newcastle. David is involved in a variety of public health research activities, however his primary area of interest is in complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) research.

Associate Professor Sibbritt is the Deputy Director of NORPHCAM (http://norphcam.org/) which is a network of international researchers involved in CAM research. He is also on the editorial board of two international journals (Complementary Therapies in Medicine; Journal of Chinese Integrative Medicine). In the ALSWH project, David has published widely on the topic of CAM consumption and is currently involved in a NHMRC project to examine the difference in CAM use by area of residence in the 1946-51 cohort as well as an ARC project to examine the use of CAM by women during their pregnancy.
