This data set was compiled to provide context for a number of papers on the history and historic manifestation of Indian hawkers in the Southern Riverina and North-Eastern Victoria. The data presented in the table have been compiled through systematic searches of digitised newspapers, and the state archives, as well as searches of Births, Deaths and Marriages on-line databases of New South Wales and Victoria.
