It is the largest show the NGV has mounted. For Melbourne NOW, More was a comissioned artist for the ZOOM exhibition space in NGV International. ZOOM was curated by Ewan McEoin, creative director of Victoria's State of Design festival (2008-2012). Research contribution: More's installation, 'Data Tapestry', presents an audiovisual experience of urban datasets. As a commissioned work for the Melbourne Now exhibition More worked with a range of government agencies - including City of Melbourne, VICRoads, Department of Environment and Primary Industries - to translate data into a spatial design experience. More developed a new software work to present 4 channels of generated graphics & sound. He collaborated with sound designer Marco Cher-Gibard to develop the soundscape. Research significance: The opening weekend of Melbourne Now attracted 18,400 visitors. The show has already received extensive media attention, including Robert Nelson, 'Imaginative works strung together on poetic strands', The Age, 27 Nov 2013. The signficance of More's research is further demonstrated by the level of standalone media attention it has received. For example, More is featured (bio & imagery) in the 'Melbourne NOW' exhibition catalouge (pg 228-229). He was featured on the cover of The Sunday Age's Metro magazine and in the accompanying article (Megan Backhouse, 'Mapping the Soul of the City' 7 Nov 2013). More's work was also discussed by Melbourne NOW's senior curator, Max Delany, on Radio National's ByDesign (Fenella Kernebone, 13 Nov 2013) http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/bydesign/the-conversation3a/5073956. In September 2013 More was an invited speaker at the influential TEDx Melbourne City 2.0 event ('Data visualisation can help us interact with our cities' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXwf6N2ufFU).&rft.creator=Gregory More&rft.date=2013&rft_rights= https://rightsstatements.org/page/InC/1.0/&rft_subject=Architectural design&rft_subject=Not Assigned&rft.type=dataset&rft.language=English Access the data
