Brief description
This project is part of wider efforts to restore the environmental and agricultural value of waterways in the district, with particular focus on the once locally common endangered Yellow-spotted Bell Frog. A community coalition will restore 1.1 ha of degraded riparian areas along Oolong Creek in a highly visible place within Dalton village. Dense stands of weeds and exotic species will be removed, along with rubbish. Interpretative signage will be erected and the areas replanted with appropriate native tube stock. Local scouts will gain their landcare badges through action learning tasks at the site. Upon completion it will be a permanent demonstration site showing how beautiful and productive a well planned riparian environment can be.User Contributed Tags
