Brief description

The CSIRO arcive of the South East Australian Climate Initiative (SEACI) Regional Climate Model dataset for the Murray Darling Basin region for the years 1950-2000. Created with the CSIRO Cubic Conformal Atmospheric Model (CCAM) Regional Climate Model (RCM) by dynamically downscaling the NCEP reanalysis model output over a target area centered on south eastern Australia. SEACI is a research program investigating the causes and impacts of climate change and climate variability across this region. The CCAM model was nested in the NCEP host with 50 years of NCEP output being used, with greenhouse emissions corresponding to 1950-2000. 4X-Daily, monthly and seasonal atmospheric variables are available between Lat: -5, -50 & Lon: 130, 160 at 5 levels (1000, 850, 700, 500, 300 hPa) with .2º (20km) resolution. There are 678 daily files totalling 1.81 TB, and 1093 monthly_mean & seasonal files totaling 46.8 GB. All files are in netcdf format and are available for internal use and analysis by CSIRO staff on the HPSC cherax.
