Brief description

CSIRO NovaSAR-1 S-band SAR collections from July 2019 - present.

NovaSAR-1 offers a variety of imaging modes including 6m resolution Stripmap mode, ScanSAR mode and 400km swath Maritime mode.

HH, VV and HV polarisations are available.

The data is primarily over Australia, though some images exist in other parts of the world.

Users are required to register on the datahub and in doing so, agree to the EULA, to search and download the NovaSAR-1 Data.

Data is available in Level-1 (GRD, SLC, SRD and SCD) and CEOS-ARD formats.
Lineage: The simplified version of the steps taken to produce the data are:
1. CSIRO requests the data from the satellite, based on image requests received
2. SSTL provide arbitration and TT&C services, uploading the finalised image plans to NovaSAR-1
3. The data is downloaded at the CfAT-SE Alice Springs ground station and transferred to CSIRO
4. CSIRO process the data from raw to Level-1 using the Airbus supplied IFP software
5. CSIRO then process the Level-1 data to CEOS-ARD format using GAMMA
