Data methods: Freshwater crayfish were used to examine habitat preference in tank trials. Habitats available for selection included aquatic vegetation, sand, and cobble rocks. Crayfish were exposed to these habitat options for several days to assess their preferences.

The dataset consists of one Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) workbook. The first worksheet provides an example of the data structure and includes a table listing variable names and their descriptions.
