The University of Adelaide is one of Australia’s Group of Eight, research-intensive universities and is consistently ranked among the top 1% of universities in the world. Established in 1874, the University of Adelaide is Australia’s third oldest university and an iconic Adelaide institution, contributing significantly to the health, wealth and wellbeing of the State and a vital part of the cultural, social and intellectual life of the community.

The University has a strong reputation for research and teaching excellence and producing graduates that make an impact on the world. The University has produced over 100 Rhodes Scholars, including Australia’s first Indigenous winner with five Nobel Laureates among its alumni community.

In the 2012 Excellence in Research for Australia process, 60 of the University’s research areas were rated at or above world class. The University of Adelaide is a comprehensive university, offering a broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs underpinned by world-class research and placing high priority on the student learning experience. There are more than 25,000 students with 30 per cent of them international students from more than 90 countries, all participating in a vibrant campus life.
