Brief description Maintenance dialysis is expensive and providing dialysis services for people living in remote communities adds considerable costs. However, the full costs of taking people to services, rather than services to people, are poorly understood and have not been quantified to date. The aim of this thesis is to investigate and add to the knowledge on the economic costs of dialysis treatments when all hospital and associated tertiary health care is considered.
