A PhD research project to build sustainable communities in multicultural nations by leveraging the services of the public library for nation building.
The information needs of diverse communities in the population were obtained through interviews with local migrants in Western Australia. The inductive content analysis methodology was used to analysed the data collected and presented in a Microsoft Excel file.
An evaluation of the current level of public library services and programs were obtained from a web electronic survey administered to librarians in Australian public libraries. The SPSS software was used for data analysis.
Data findings underpins the Model for Sustainable Public Libraries described in the author's Phd thesis publication (Chapter 7, p.216). Thesis is available from: http://ro.ecu.edu.au/theses/1524.
