Brief description Bacterial superbugs are becoming a major global medical challenge. Polymyxins are the last-line antibiotics against Gram-negative superbugs but with little pharmacological information available. I am an antimicrobial pharmacologist specialised in re-developing polymyxins, and discovering novel antibiotics against these very troublesome bacteria. My research targets the _Bad Bugs, No Drugs disaster highlighted by the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the World Health Organization.
