Brief description
The research in this component focused on investigating recharge into Spearwood Sand, using an infiltration gallery designed to infiltrate at a high rate, secondary treated wastewater with only additional filtration to reduce total suspended solid levels; assessing changes in the quality of receiving groundwater from passage of the treated wastewater through the unsaturated zone of the Spearwood Sand and the underlying Tamala Limestone aquifer; and quantifying changes in the water retention characteristics of soil impacted by wastewater and the consequences for vertical migration of wastewater through the soil profile - raw data available includes: water quality, water levels, soil moisture, flow ratesLineage: Flow rates, soil moisture and water levels were logged continuously. Water quality samples were collected and submitted to multiple laboratories + water quality data also provided by Water Corp WA
