Brief description

## **Abstract**

The dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from Geology data provided by the NSW Department of Primary Industries - Mineral Resources and the Queensland Department of Natural Resurces, Mines & Energy. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. This layer (ESRI Shapefile) merges the CLM - Qld Surface Geology Mapsheets & CLM - NSW Surface Geology Mapsheets in the Clarence-Morton bioregion with a reclassified symbology & feature class.

## **Dataset History**

This shapefile was derived from Qld 1:100000 map sheets (Geological Survey of Qld) and NSW 1:250000 map sheet in NSW (obtained from SEEBASE). The objective of modifying the original data sets was to combine the geological units into a smaller sub-set of units. For this purpose, subdivisions within different units were combined where appropriate. For example, many different subdivisions of Main Range Volcanics were combined into one unit.
