Where CFA is contacted by ESTA to respond to an incident, a report is generated in FIRS. Data available in FIRS include type of incident (e.g. bushfire/grassfire, road rescue, residential fires), call characteristics, area characteristics,  rescue information, measures for hazardous materials (if applicable), ignition sources, firefighting (e.g how the fire was extinguished) and structure characteristics. Data are collected on an ongoing basis and have been captured since 1994.
