Full description
The Centre for Marine Futures applies innovative science to a wide range of marine environmental challenges. The Centre's research is underpinned by the application of image-based, remote, non-destructive sampling technologies. With detailed habitat maps and a fish archive of more than 5000 hours of digital video stretching from the tropics to temperate waters, the Centre’s capacity to characterise and understand Western Australia’s marine environment is unparalleled. Research strengths include marine habitat mapping, fish and fisheries research, benthic ecology, experimental design and statistical modelling, communications and outreach. The Centre works in partnership with industry, government, non-government organisations and the community to deliver rigorous, disciplined and timely research. Subjects
