Full description
Carp gudgeons are the most abundant, widespread and biodiverse freshwater fishes in southeastern Australia. The unacknowledged presence of many cryptic species and sexually-parasitic lineages severely taints all research on this cornerstone group. This collection will bring together a significant amount of data generated as part of an ARC funded Discovery Project studying 5- to 6- thousand samples from aquarium trials and native wild ranges.
This project is the work of Peter Unmack (University of Canberra) and Mark Adams (Museum of South Australia).
