Full description

QAIgen Qiaxcel Connect - Capillary Electrophoresis

The QIAxcel system by QIAGEN is an automated capillary electrophoresis instrument designed for high-resolution analysis of nucleic acids, including DNA and RNA. The Qiaxcel separates analytes based on size and charge by driving them through narrow capillaries filled with a polymer matrix under an electric field. The separated bands pass then pass through a fluorescence detector module (excitation > fluorescence emission > photodetector). When compared to traditional gel electrophoresis, capillary electrophoresis is faster, more reproducible, and user-friendly method that requires minimal sample volume and hands-on time. Using pre-filled gel cartridges and integrated software, the QIAxcel enables precise sizing, quantification, and quality assessment of nucleic acid fragments across multiple samples in parallel. It supports a wide range of applications, from PCR product verification to RNA integrity analysis.
