The data were collected between 25th November and 2 December 1997. Colonies in the Cape Denison area were censused, more detailed locations are given in the data. Counts which are made are for colonies, where each entry is the mean of 3 counts per colony. The value given for the total birds (24542) includes non-breeders. Locations are given in descriptive format rather than specific latitude and longitude references.
