The Trust was constituted under the provisions of the River Improvement Act and gazetted 11 September 1963.Subsequent Agency:
The East Gippsland River Management Board (VA 5013) was formed by an Order-in-Council by expanding the district of the Cann River Improvement Trust on 8th May, 1990.
