Brief description

The Cancer Institute NSW is a pillar organisation of NSW Health, providing the strategic direction for cancer control in NSW.\r\n\r\nWe collect and use the latest cancer data, information and evidence to drive improvements in cancer outcomes. We are the largest funder of cancer research in the state, with a focus on the translation of research findings into clinical practice.\r\n\r\nDriven by the goals in the NSW Cancer Plan the Institute has a 13 year history of working in partnership with all involved in the cancer community to:\r\n\r\nreduce the incidence of cancer in the community\r\nincrease the survival rate for people diagnosed with cancer\r\nimprove the quality of life for people with cancer and their carers\r\nprovide a source of expertise on cancer control for the government, health service providers, medical researchers and the general community.
