"C" Letter Registers

Full description

These volumes provide a record of state-wide correspondence classified by the Board of Fire Commissioners as "C" (possibly Clerical matters) Letters. These volumes covered personnel matters concerning Senior Officers, Permanent Brigade Officers, Clerical and Cleaning staff involving industrial awards, salaries, job applications, exams, promotions, promotion committee reports, clothing issues, jury service, leave, medical certificates, transfers, and the removal of furniture and personnel effects. There are also listings of correspondence for the Transport Department, the Transport Hose and Workshop Depots, plus the Service Maintenance Section. These registers are arranged numerically. The following information is contained in the register: progressive number; date received; classification; subject; previous papers; subsequent papers; how dealt with; and file number.
