This series comprises the register of burials for the Woodend Cemetery. All Victorian Cemeteries Acts required cemeteries to keep registers of burials. The records the interment details of deceased persons at the cemetery.Information recorded for each burial includes:
- the name, age, occupation, address and denomination of the deceased,
- internment identification number, date of burial, who performed the funeral ceremony, and
- burial fee, purchase of plot fee, grave number, whether deceased buried in a private or public grave and the denomination or section of cemetery.
There is a handwritten note on the first page of the extant register in this series which states "There is no register previous to this. I am informed old books were burnt". It is not known who or when this note was written into the register.
