This is an electronic collection of digitised questionnaires from the Brotherhood of St. Laurence survey of adult leisure activities in1958. Each questionnaire was allocated a code number and comprised seventeen pages of questions relating to the respondent's personal details, employment, income, transport, leisure activities, religious affiliation, community attitudes, education, concerns about children, economic and housing expectations, available resources and facilities, and social networks. Questionnaires also include an assessment made by the interviewer and many include annotations and personal opinions on the family. The original copies of the items are held by the State Library of Victoria. The digital copies have been created and are managed by the University of Melbourne eScholarship Research Centre. The collection is incomplete as some questionnaires are missing.
