Full description

These data were collected from road line transects completed on public roads of North East New South Wales and South East Queensland, Australia. The field surveys were completed in September – October 2023 by a field team of one driver and one observer. When horses were identified along a transect, the vehicle was stopped to count the number of horses per paddock and measure their distance from the road using a Bushnell Trophy Xtreme laser rangefinder. These data were recorded in Sightings (v1.1; MacDonald 2013) and later updated to reflect the horse paddocks' GPS location in ArcGIS Pro.
