The Botanic Models Collection consists of late 19th-early 20th century enlarged representations of plants, bacteria and fungi, demonstrating anatomy, morphology, and botanical processes. They are elaborately painted and made from various materials: papier-mâché, fabric-mâché, wood, metal, brass, plaster, various types of hairs, and gelatine. Hand made in Germany and France by three producers: Auzoux, Les Fils d'Emile Deyrolle, and R. Brendel and Co. 132 items. Originally used for teaching and illustrative purposes.
