Full description

Henry Ginn was appointed as Clerk of Works in 1846 and was responsible for overseeing the construction and maintenance of public buildings in the colony. After separation from New South Wales, Ginn became Colonial Architect in Victoria.

This series consists of a book of plans for public buildings such as police buildings and watchhouses, court buildings, lighthouses, gaols, telegraph stations and the Melbourne Lunatic Asylum. Included are elevations and plans with dimensions.

The final plans in the book are incomplete.
