Observers walk slowly along the transect in a group and pause for 5 mins at each of 11 locations spaced at 100 m intervals along the transect. Records are made at each point and while walking between points of the presence of any bird species identified from their calls, and for birds sighted and identified visually, records also include the number of individuals, distance from the observers and behaviour.
