Brief description
Bird surveys were conducted within the 1 hectare SEQ Peri-urban SuperSite on 8 separate days between February and September 2015. Area search methodology was used for all surveys based on protocols described by Antos et al. (2008). Area searches involved searching a set route for a minimum of one hour, recording all species seen and numbers of those species, including species flying over if they have the potential to use the property, and recording weather conditions such as wind direction and strength, cloud cover and rainfall. Area searches are typically conducted over plots of approximately 1 to 3 hectares. Area searches are easily applied and flexible with regard to observer movement for observation and the shape of sample area, and are less sensitive to biases related to environmental variation such as weather and time of day.Data time period: 2015 to 2015
