Additional information regarding individual components of this dataset is contained in separate MarLIN metadata records which exist for each voyage (e.g. Soela Voyage SO 1/79 Biological Data Overview, etc.), and in the cruise report for each voyage. Full description

This was originally a compilation dataset containing all vessel-collected and centrally held biological data from CMR voyages which have passed through the North West Shelf study area (approximately the spatial extents 18 deg S, 23 deg S, 112 deg E, 120 deg E), additional to those represented in the "North West Shelf Database" (see separate metadata record). The data were extracted from the CMR Data Centre's "BIODATA" database (see separate metadata record) for the use of the NWS Joint Environmental Management Study.
