Brief description
This dataset shows the cycling infrastructure across Metropolitan Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo. The dataset was extracted and modified using data from [OpenStreetMap (OSM)](https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright) and simplified into high\\-level categories of cycling infrastructure as outlined in the supporting documentation. The OSM data has been enhanced by the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) to increase the coverage and detail of cycling infrastructure in these regions.
**Disclaimer**
While every measure has been taken by DTP to ensure accuracy, errors may remain in the dataset.

Bicycle Infrastructure Network -This dataset shows existing cycling infrastructure across Metropolitan Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo. The data has been extracted from OpenStreetMap (OSM) and simplified into high-level categories of cycling infrastructure (see Data Dictionary). The data has been enhanced by the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) to increase the coverage and detail of cycling infrastructure in these regions. Bus lanes, which typically do allow cycling, have not been included.\r\n
Note:
*This dataset includes some informal cycling paths and lanes, and so may differ from documents showing strategic or official cycling networks. While measures have been taken to ensure accuracy of the dataset, errors may remain.
