Brief description

This dataset contains raw data collected for three separate experiments investigating the cleaning behaviour of the cleaner shrimp Lysmata amboinensis

Full description

The aim of this research was to experimentally examine the non-symbiotic cleaning capacity of Lysmata amboinensis, a tropical cleaner shrimp, towards all life stages of a commercially important ectoparasite of finfish, Neobenedenia (Monogenea). Specifically we sought to determine: 1) whether L. amboinensis would consume Neobenedenia eggs; 2) whether L. amboinensis would consume free swimming Neobenedenia larvae; 3) if L. amboinensis could reduce infection success of Neobenedenia to a potential fish host.
