Bendigo Health Care Group

Full description

On 1 July 1995 the Bendigo Health Care Group was established through the merger of the Bendigo Hospital (VA 1264) and the Anne Caudle Centre (VA 1275) (see Victoria Government Gazette G 24, 22 June 1995, pg. 1531). In line with the Department of Health and Community Services (VA 3092) guidelines, Bendigo Psychiatric Services joined the group. Prior to the merger, Bendigo Psychiatric Services had been operating as an independent entity from around 1972.

In May 2010, the Brumby Government announced that a new hospital would be built in Bendigo. In January 2017, patients and staff were moved from the old site to the new Bendigo Hospital.
