The Beeac Hospital became an annexe of the Geelong and District Hospital on 12 November 1956. Until that time the Hospital had operated under a private hospital operation. The new arrangement was to effect its registration under the Hospitals and Charities Act 1948.Beeac Hospital was an administrative annexe under the management of the Manager of the Geelong and District Hospital. The Manager was responsible for the organising of the administrative work including the books of account, salaries and wages, patients accounts and certain correspondence. The Beeac Hospital Committee was responsible for all financial matters including the raising of funds, and the receipt of its own Governmental subsidy.
On 5 March 1958, the Secretary, Hospital and Charities Commission, informed the Hospital that the Commission had approved a change of name from The Beeac Hospital to that of Beeac and District Hospital.
