Brief description
__The IPA Authority File__ (conforming to WIPO standard ST.37) published herein provides a sequential gap-free list of all patent document publication numbers (AU application number / AU 10-digit number) issued by IP Australia since 1904 to a total of greater than 1.9 million patent records and will be updated monthly.To allow for consistency checks The IP Australia authority file contains a list of all publication numbers assigned by the IP office. This may include publication numbers for which no published document is available – this can be the case for applications withdrawn shortly before the publication or for destroyed documents – as well as publication numbers for which the publication contains only bibliographic data.
__The primary purpose of the authority file__ is to allow other IPOs and related interested parties to assess the completeness of the available patent documentation for example validation of bulk data extracts.
This published authority file is in __TXT(CSV) format.__ IP Australia will be providing separate access to the authority file in XML consistent with WIPO Standards ST.36 DTD and ST.96 XSD in the near future.
__Data elements__ incorporated in this TXT based Authority File are as follows:
(a) __Two-letter alphabetic code of the IPO__ publishing the document (publication authority);
(b) __publication number__;
(c) __kind code__ of the patent document (kind-of-document code); and
(d) __publication date.__
