They may also be associated with hormonal changes that cause symptoms such as night sweats, sleep disturbances, hot flushes, vaginal dryness, urinary frequency, impaired memory, anxiety and depression. Although about 50% of the population will experience menopause, few women are aware of all the health implications associated with perimenopause and menopause. Further, while many women have some understanding about the symptoms associated with perimenopause and menopause, it is unclear where this knowledge is sourced as relatively few women seek advice from a doctor. This dataset contains de-identified transcripts with 25 women exploring their experiences and knowledge of menopause. This data set also includes the analysis of an online survey of 412 participants. Survey and interview questions are also included. This dataset contains sensitive information that is not suitable for open publication.
