This collection contains representative samples of Australian spoken language collected to support speech science and technology research.
The collection includes audio recordings of Australian speech, plus associated metadata for each recording (speaker and recording conditions) and annotations of the recording at the phonetic, phonemic and word level.
This was a collaborative project between Macquarie University, Australian National University, University of Sydney and National Acoustic Labs (Australian Hearing). The National Spoken Language Database (NSLD) committee of the Australian Speech Science and Technology Association (ASSTA) which initiated the project comprised Bruce Millar (ANU -chair), Phillip Dermody (National Acoustic Labs), Jonathan Harrington (Macquarie University), and Julie Vonwiller (Sydney University).
