Full description
We propose ATCA observations to investigate the radio-continuum evolution of two of the youngest Galactic supernova remnants (SNRs), G1.9+0.3 and G329.9-0.5 (Perun). Previous analyses of G1.9+0.3 have helped to map it's evolution. Recent research has shown that G1.9+0.3's northern rim may be expanding into a molecular cloud and these observations will allow us to analyse any deceleration and small-scale changes. Perun is a newly discovered young Galactic SNR of a similar age to G1.9+0.3 and it's prior evolution has not been mapped yet. The proposed 5 and 9 GHz observations will allow us to accurately measure the most recent changes in expansion, flux density, spectral index, and magnetic field for both SNRs, thus advancing our understanding of the earliest stages of these objects.Available: 2025-11-28
