Full description Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common heart rhythm disorder in human beings. It is a common cause of stroke and disability. Obstructive sleep apnoea is a condition where the airway closes during sleep and is also very common in patients with AF. This research will firstly evaluate the way in which AF and OSA are connected. It will also try to develop effective treatments for OSA that may reduce the severity of AF. The impact of OSA treatment on stroke risk will also be investigated.
