Researchers: Dr Helen Robinson (Principal investigator)

Brief description Women with Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) have more adverse pregnancy outcomes than the general population. These adverse outcomes are related to glucose levels. Given that carbohydrate is metabolised to glucose by the body, it is plausible that a lower carbohydrate diet will lead to improved glucose levels in these women. The aim of this research is to evaluate the relationship between carbohydrate intake, glucose levels and pregnancy outcomes in women with GDM.
