Full description

Armata Primary School No. 4965 opened on 19 September 1967.

The school was located on a site purchased by the Department bordered by Brunning and Armata Crescents and Alpina Street in Frankston North.

The school was opened to relieve enrolment pressure on other primary schools in the north east area of Frankston – Frankston Forest Primary School No. 4872 and Monterey Primary School No. 4939. They had all opened in the 1960s due to the establishment of Frankston North as a suburb and the construction of new housing estates by the Housing Commission (VA 508).

Enrolment at Armata Primary School was high. Six new classrooms were added in 1968, and another six classrooms were added at the beginning of 1970.

Armata Primary School closed in 1986.
