Full description Breast cancer is the commonest cancer in women. Calcium channel blockers (CCBs) are frequently used worldwide to treat high blood pressure. A link between use of CCBs and breast cancer has been proposed with mixed findings in North American, European and Asian women. No data exist for Australian women or across populations. Since 1 in 8 Australian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer by age 85 years, it is important to determine whether this risk is increased by the use of CCBs.
