Archaeological excavations (2008-2010) at the site of Samtavro, an ancient cemetery and settlement, located in Mtskheta, Republic of Georgia. Although the cemetery was used over a lengthy period of time, this project concentrated on the period 3rd- 6th centuries AD. The settlement could be dated to 100 BC-AD 100. Field work undertaken as part of The Georgian-Australian Investigations in Archaeology (GAIA), a collaborative project between the Georgian National Museum and the University of Melbourne.
